“What Book Has Changed Your Life?”
Through the month of September, the library is holding an essay contest to answer the question: “What Book Has Changed Your Life?” .
Many books are challenged every year and ultimately our freedom to read is threatened. We want to know about that book you are thankful was available to read, and how it impacted your life!

We respect all copyright laws and will not accept any plagiarized material. One entry per person, please.
- How Do I Enter?: Submit essays in Microsoft Word format to nicole@pclibrary.org (with the subject line “BBW Essay Contest”), or you may visit any PCLS library location (Cookeville, Baxter, Monterey, and Algood) and submit your essay in person.
- What’s In It For Me?: The top 3 essays will receive a stylish “I Read Banned Books” tote from the ALA, and winning essays will be featured on the library’s blog And of course, you’ll have the opportunity to share an uplifting story with your community about the power of reading, and who wouldn’t love that?!
