Catherine Cella Neapolitan
StoryBoards have been a long time coming. Catherine Cella has had the concept in mind – and materials at hand – for at least four years. The end point has evolved, therefore, through many stages of journal entries, ruminations, and experimentations. What has remained the same is the basic format of a vintage portrait hung in the corner of a room that has been stylized to reflect the past in its patterned wallpaper yet be present in its abstract cut of space. Imagined stories for the portraits are told on the floorboards, beginning with a Six –Word Memoir à la the book and proceeding more elliptically than narratively. |
