A
Long Way Gone / Ishmael Beach
A LONG
WAY GONE by Ishmael Beach is an autobiographical account of him
as a 12 year old boy, living in Sierre Leone, fighting for his
life as he becomes involved with the destruction of entire villages.
The war of tribes, rebels, children is unbelieveable. His escape
to the United States is miraculous and the writing of his story
gives hope for the rehabilitation of the many children involved
in warfare throughout the world, even 'tho, we wonder the outcome
of thousands and thousands who do not have Ishmael's opportunity.
