explosion, 1917, of which I had never heard - - largest explosion
in the world until Atomic Bomb - - interesting & well written

Curse of the Narrows by Laura M. Mac Donald is awesome - another
one recommended by GE. I have spent time in Halifax and am sorry
to say had never heard of the Halifax explosion. The description
of the events that lead to the explosion and the personal antidotes
before, during and after are overwhelming. Very factual with nearly
40 pages of footnotes.
