Snow Flowers and the Secret Fan/ Lisa See

Another See novel about China, however, this one is all set in the past. Can certainly understand why See was given award for writing about Chinese culture. This is a compelling story of friendship and life in China in the mid 19th century. Usually like happy and this wasn’t but very much an engrossing read.
