Summer Reading Program Events

First Week: Tuesday June 5 (10:00 & 11:00) & Thursday June 7 (10:00, 11:00, & 12:00)
Kevin Kidd
Kevin Kidd bills himself as an Enrichertainer. His shows combine high-energy fun with teaching of positive values. This summer the show is “Cowpokes Don’t Poke Fun at Each Other”. His message is carried through the world-class songs he writes and performs. and A dose of silliness and his natural rapport with kids will guarantee
everyone a good time
Lots of fun with music and song!!!!

Marcia Donovan
Meet Bubba the Cowboy Prince, Miz Lurleen and the Fairy Godcow as you Ride the Range and Sing with PCL Storyteller Marcia Donovan. Yee-haw!! Stetson, chaps, saddle and spurs provided by your Imagination. Let's Ride!!

Second Week: Thursday June 14 (10:00, 11:00, 1:00 & 2:00)

Joel Reese the Singing Cowboy
From Opryland to LEGOland, libraries and schools in between, Joel pulls sixteen years of edu-tainment experience from his saddle bag for fun for kids of all ages.
Joel and his side-kick puppet, Buster Bronco will lead our Summer Reading Wranglers down an imaginary trail for some rip-roaring musical adventure. Grab your cowboy hat and get ready to sing along, laugh and dance !!!
Joel empowers children to feel special, to believe in themselves and to love literacy.
He has his own CD called 'Whole Lot Of Animals' and you can visit his website at www.joelreese.com to sample his CD, print out a color page, and learn more about the singing cowboy! This program is recommended for children ages kindergarten through 6th grade.

Third Week: Thursday June 21 (10:00 & 11:00) & Friday June 22 (10:00, 11:00 & 1:00)

Upper Cumberland Regional Library Puppeteers
Come have a blast with the UCRL Puppeteers while they perform stories and music to the theme of Wanted: Rompin’ Stompin’ Reading Wranglers! See all the cool puppets and puppeteers! This program is recommended for children ages preschool through 3rd grade.

Fourth Week: Tuesday June 26 (10:00 & 11:00) & Thursday 28 (10:00, 11:00 & 12:00)

The Amazing Bruce Amato
Bruce Amato, a comical magician, will perform a magic and comedy show. Bruce always has every child in the program roaring with laughter and awed with amazement! Bruce includes a love of reading and promoting literacy in his shows. This program is recommended for children ages kindergarten through 6th grade.

Fifth Week: Tuesday July 3 (10:00 & 11:00) & Thursday July 5 (10:00, 11:00 & 12:00)

 

PCL Players
The staff of the Putnam County Children’s Dept. will entertain you with their own version of a Wild West Show. Read-alouds, songs, and a guitar playing sheriff will finish up our annual programs to celebrate Summer Reading.
This program is recommended for all ages.
